Mailbox Monday -- October 13

Before I begin with Mailbox Monday, I want to wish my husband a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Not doing much in the way of celebrating today (it's kind of difficult to afford a dinner out or anything else when you get an unexpected bill from the mechanic), but Serena and her hubby will make their way to our end of the woods on Saturday to make my hubby feel old. :)

Also, I'm a bit behind in reviews and blog reading, but I'm feeling better now. (And how come I didn't discover Google Reader a long time ago?? Unlike Bloglines, at least it updates all the feeds!)

******
Anyway, on to Mailbox Monday, hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page. Thanks, Marcia!

Here are the books I received last week:

Off the Menu by Christine Son (from the author/publisher for a virtual book tour next month)

The Liar's Diary by Patry Francis (from a contest on J. Kaye's blog--thanks Alea and J. Kaye!)

Jesus Take the Wheel by Stuart Migdon (from the author for a blog tour)

Life After Genius by M. Ann Jacoby (from the lovely Miriam at Hachette Book Group for the Early Birds Blog Tour later this month)

Girl in a Blue Dress by Gaynor Arnold (from a contest at Girl Walks Into a Book Store--thanks Katherine!)

Immortals: The Crossing by Joy Nash (from a contest at Literarily--thanks Shana and Joy!)

Wild Horses and Rodeo Rocky by Jenny Oldfield (from Sourcebooks)

The Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran (from the author)

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Trish Ryan (a contest win from BBAW)

It was a busy week for my mailman and UPS driver! My husband brings my packages in the car when he picks me up at the train station so I can de-stress from the hectic commute by looking at all the new books I have to read. I can't wait to get started on these!

Wow, you're quite good at winning book giveaways it seems. I'm curious to know if Girl in a Blue Dress is any good. I've heard mixed reviews. My Mailbox Monday is up now too:

I haven't participated yet in mailbox Monday, but the day is still young!

Looks like some good books to borrow, yet again!

Oh good I'm glad The Liar's Diary arrived! I wish my dad brought my packages to the bus stop, I'm usually busy guessing what's waiting at home based on my sister's descriptions! :P

That's a big set of books you got last week. Glad you're feeling well enough to read them all. Take care of yourself.

P.S. A very happy birthday to your hubby.

Happy Birthday to your hubby! I love Google Reader. It took me forever to finally start using it and now I don't know what I would do without it!

I have Heretic Queen but I want to read Nefertiti first.

My husband says thanks for all the birthday wishes!!

Bermudaonion: Until I started blogging about books, I never looked forward to the mail. I'm like a kid at the candy store when I get a new book!

Sandra: I've got several books to read before I can get to Girl in a Blue Dress. I haven't seen too many reviews of that one. I'll check out your Mailbox Monday post in a few!

Serena: I still haven't seen a Mailbox Monday post from you, missy! :P

Alea: Thanks again! I can't wait to get a chance to read it! Hubby started bringing the packages to the train station because listening to me gush about new books was a lot better than hear me grumbling about the rude people on the train! LOL

Jeannie: Thanks! I do feel much better. I couldn't believe how many books came in last week. It really is a good thing that I love books!

Wendi: Can't wait to hear what you think of The Heretic Queen. I've only heard good things about that book. I'll be visiting your Mailbox Monday soon!

Naida: Hubby says thanks! And I can't wait to start reading these!

Gautami: Yes it does! I'll pop over to your blog in a few!

Tricia: Do what Serena does. She'll say I never win anything, and then she goes on a winning streak. I have no idea how I got so lucky all at once! LOL

Marie: I agree! These books do sound fun! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Shana: You bet I'm excited! Can't wait to read your review!

Dar: Google Reader is my new best friend! :P

Ladytink: It took me awhile to get used to Google Reader, but now I love it. Can't wait to hear what you think about Nefertiti. I LOVED that book!!

Suey: I wouldn't want you to explode!! Just take deep breaths before you get the mail. :P

J. Kaye: I can't wait to read Life After Genius. It's next in my TBR pile in prep for the 10/29 tour date.

Amy: I keep track of the books I want to read by adding them to the to-read file in goodreads. I don't even want to know how many books are listed. More than I could read in my lifetime, I'm sure!

Susan: Looking forward to your review of The Heretic Queen!

I got a great surprise today! According to my sister I got nothing in the mail and as I was about to go up the stairs I found a stack of 3 books! Totally awesome!

Nicole: It's not hard to fall behind when there's so many books to read and so little time. I'm looking forward to your review of The Heretic Queen!
