Mailbox Monday -- January 12

It's time for another Mailbox Monday, hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page.

This week, only one book made its way into my home, and it wasn't even for me!

The Secret History of Giants by Ari Berk, which I won for The Girl in a giveaway at Ready Set Read Reviews. Thanks so much, Rebekah! She loves it!

What books did you receive or purchase last week??

******

I spent much of last week sick, so I took an online vacation and rested this weekend. I read a huge chunk of The Scent of Sake by Joyce Lebra, and I should be posting the review either tomorrow or the day after. A couple of days spent under a warm comforter on my new reclining sofa...it's a shame I had to get out of bed this morning and wait out in the cold for the train. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, too!

I only got one too, it's a relief for me really. Things will pick up again, no worries.

Looks like the new reclining sofa is working wonders...are you sleeping in it too? instead of the bed?

Glad you are feeling better and rested. At least you can just read, read, read when you are resting! And congrats on winning the giveaway! That must have been exciting!

I think everyone's in a post holiday slump. It's so wonderful that your daughter is a reader.

Anna - I hope you're feeling better. It seems like everyone is sick right now! At least you felt well enough to get some reading done.

This past week I received a copy of Berlin Stories in the mail and a novel by Christopher Meeks. Both look really good.

Technically I didn't get any this past week as the stack I posted about were actually waiting for me when we got back home the week before but I thought the two stacks deserved their own posts! :P
We didn't do much this weekend either and it was nice to relax at home. Glad you're feeling better.

Sandra: I'm sure it will. I love getting books, but I need a breather.

Serena: Nope. Just napping on the sofa. Napping until 2 am LOL

Jenners: Thanks! I was lucky that I started feeling better on Friday. There wasn't much reading prior to that.

Bermudaonion: I'm happy to have a little bookworm. I hope the love of books stays with her.

Gautami: Glad I'm not the only one in a mailbox slump. I'll go check out yours in a sec.

Lauren: I'll go check out yours, too.

Shana: I made Serena sick. My bad. ;) I'm so thankful that I was well enough to read.

Literary Feline: I'll have to check out Berlin Stories. I'm curious.

Dar: She tore right into that package, she was so excited!

Tanabata: I'll have to check out what you got. I love weekends spent relaxing. Too bad I don't get too many of those.

Bella: I'll be visiting you in a few!

Belle: There's nothing wrong with book buying. I haven't in awhile because it's hard to control myself. LOL

Wendi: Thanks. I just finished The Scent of Sake yesterday. It was great. I'll be posting the review soon.

Hope you are feeling much better now Anna! That's actually great that you were able to read so much - sometimes when I'm sick reading is just hard to do. That's when I actually turn to t.v. :)

Thanks for stopping by the 'mailbox' this week. I hope your feeling better. Enjoy your breathing space as it won't last long.
