Mailbox Monday -- April 6

Good morning! I'm surprised I'm up and running, since I didn't get much sleep last night. Could be the bad dreams I had after watching a zombie movie followed by a vampire movie with hubby yesterday. I knew it was a bad idea, and I have no idea how convinced me to watch them. I don't really have the stomach for these movies anymore. Will I ever learn?

Let's forget the zombies and vampires and move on to Mailbox Monday, where we list the books we received in the mail, purchased, or otherwise welcomed with open arms over the past week. A big thanks to Marcia from The Printed Page for hosting.

These are the books added to my collection:

Secret Love Poems by Arlene Ang

The Walking People by Mary Beth Keane

A Hatful of Cherries by Felix Calvino

Dirty Little Angels
by Chris Tusa

The Spare Wife
by Alex Witchel

What books did you add to your shelves recently?

I can't even watch scary movies in the morning, nevermind just at night! I got The Walking People as well. Enjoy all your books.

I can't wait to see what you say about The Walking People. Too bad I didn't get that one. LOL

Happy Reading and try to stay away from those zombies and vamps...though the vamps might be ok if they are edward and jaspar.

I just got The Survivor's Club and Very Valentine last week but this weekend I bought a copy of Half of a Yellow Sun for my book club pick. Trying to juggle it all right now and not doing well.

I don't think I've heard of any of your books before. I personally can't watch Zombie or vampire movies at any time of day!

Looks like you received quite a variety of books last week. :) I've got to admit that I'm curious about The Spare Wife!

Here's my Mailbox! ~ Wendi

Good books! Zombie and vampire movies don't bother me anymore, although I don't care for the gore (it usually looks too fake anyway) it's the realistic horror movies with serial killers and people shooting each other that bother me. The first Halloween movie did scare the *bleep* out of me at the time though! Hope you enjoy your books and have a great week!

I wonder how the Walking People will be after reading Galway Bay?

Oh, I forgot to add SECRET LOVE POEMS to my Mailbox Monday, thanks for the reminder!

Isn't Arlene Ang's handwriting beautiful?! I love the hand-written envelope, it was practically calligraphy!

Blodeuedd: I shouldn't watch them any time of day.

Bermudaonion: I can't wait to read that one. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Kristen: Thanks! Yup, scary movies and Anna just don't go together.

Serena: Well, you can always read my copy. Edward and Jasper I can handle LOL

Mary: That book certainly made the rounds!

Ti: Sounds like you got some good books, too.

Alyce: I didn't really want to watch those movies, but the hubby talked me into it. Bad idea!

Wendi: I'll be posting my review of The Spare Wife soon.

Red lady-Bonnie: I hope you get it, too!

Wrighty: See the Halloween movies didn't scare me at all! I don't like gore, it makes me ill, even when it looks fake.

Luanne: I was wondering about that, too.

Dawn: I agree about Arlene. And from what Serena's told me about her, she sounds like a doll.

Marcia: I think those movies are banned in my house now. Thanks for hosting.
