Thank You for the Nominations!

It's time to vote for your favorite book blogs for the Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2009 awards!

You can vote now through Sept. 12 by clicking here.

Serena called me early this morning to let me know that War Through the Generations was shortlisted in two categories: Best Challenge Host and Best Challenge for the World War II reading challenge.

WOW! I'd like to thank everyone who nominated us, our 94 participants, and everyone who has supported us since we launched the challenge blog. This really means a lot to us.

We never expected the challenge or the challenge blog to be what it is now, and we only hope it will get better during subsequent challenges. When I mentioned to Serena in mid-2008 that I was thinking about devoting a huge chunk of my reading time in 2009 to WWII books and wondered if it would be worth launching a challenge, I never expected there would be nearly 100 people who'd want to join us. We did know from the start, however, that we wanted to provide a resource for people who are as interested in war literature as we are, hence the extensive reading list and book review link list. It's been time-consuming for sure, but we've loved every minute of it.

Thank you again for the nominations, and we hope you'll vote for War Through the Generations.

Congratulations! It really is a great challenge - I'm not at all drawn to historical fiction and you won't believe the number of books I've thought about adding to my TBR because people read and reviewed them for the War Through the Generations challenge.
