Better Late Than Never!!

My sister, my mom, and my gram came to visit back in November for my 30th birthday. My sister's birthday is 5 days before mine, and I was frantically trying to finish knitting her birthday gift so she could take it home with her. But we were out and about having loads of fun with The Girl, and I never had time to knit. She told me to take my time, she could wait, and just mail them when I was finished. Then I lost my knitting mojo. Now I'm playing catch up.

My sister doesn't normally read my blog, but watch this be the day she decides to pop in for a visit. Hey, Erika, if you don't want to see your gift before you get it, stop reading now!

Erika's Thujas

Pattern: Thuja by Bobby Ziegler

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease, Red Sprinkles colorway (1 ball)

Needles: U.S. 6 bamboo DPNs

Modifications: I knit them using 5 DPNs instead of 4

Notes: I knit the cuff for 10 rows and the leg for 30 rows.

Started: Nov. 2007

Finished: July 8, 2008

I love this yarn. This was a ball I had left over from my Clapotis. I love the blue and yellow sprinkles that break up the monotony of the red. The yarn is a bit thick for regular socks, but these are meant to keep your feet warm around the house. Maybe my sister can use them when she's in the hospital giving birth to my nephew in late October/early November!
