The Importance of Book Bloggers

Phyllis Zimbler Miller, author of Mrs. Lieutenant: A Sharon Gold Novel (which I reviewed here), has published an article on Selling Books about ways authors and book bloggers can benefit one another. (She even mentioned Diary of an Eccentric! Thanks, Phyllis!)

Reading Phyllis' article made me think of some posts I've read recently about whether book bloggers have made an impact on the publishing industry. Phyllis obviously thinks so, and I believe the popularity of blog book tours and the willingness of publishers and authors to provide review copies also highlights the growing importance of book blogs.

You can read the article here.

Anna --

Thanks for posting about my article -- I appreciate it. And I do believe that book bloggers have a great deal more power than is generally realized at the moment. If all of you ever form a coalition, the rest of us had better watch out!

How cool to be mentioned in the article! I think it is really neat to read author interviews, and I'm glad authors are more and more willing to spend parts of their busy days answering questions!

Phyllis and Anna, I enjoyed the article. It is so awesome that Anna's great blog was mentioned. I know book bloggers admire and respect authors (duh!) but it's nice to know that authors think we're at least a little important too :)

Ditto what Shana said! Congrats on getting mentioned in the article; it's just too bad there's no link to your blog...

It's fun that you were mentioned in her article. You've made the big-time!!

I love love love that authors/publishers like to send out free books for review. It's one of the reasons I love blogging so much.

Seriously, Congrats on the mention. Now go live it up!

Aw, shucks! Serena, if living it up means having more time to read, I'm there!

hey anna! that was a nice article.. thanks for sharing it with us.. and it was soo cool that you were mentioned in it!:) must be awesome to see your name in print!:)
i am seeing how the book blogging world is becoming so much more powerful over the years!:) almost like a cult movement..:) and in a good way.. i think a lot more people are heading back in the books direction after having brief stints with other activities.. polls show that people are reading more now that they did in the last decade.. isn't that cool??:)

Hi Ramya! It is cool that more people are reading. It must be because there's nothing good on tv these days ;)

I think it's cool that we're making a mark. I'm glad to be part of it!
