Mailbox Monday -- October 27

Another edition of Mailbox Monday, hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.

Here's what I received last week...

In the mail:

Conscience Point by Erica Abeel (from Library Thing)

The Sighing of the Winter Trees by Laura Grossman (from the author for a virtual book tour next month)

Matrimony by Joshua Henkin (contest win from Book Escape...thanks Nicole and Joshua!)

Otis the Musical Owl by Joseph N. Chappelle (from the author)

From the library sale for a total of $3 (I was amazed to find so many books dealing in some way with WWII. Thanks, Serena, for helping me scan the stacks!)

The Ice Soldier by Paul Watkins

Remembering Pearl Harbor: Eyewitness Accounts by U.S. Military Men and Women edited by Robert S. La Forte & Ronald E. Marcello

Victory Over Japan by Ellen Gilchrist

Lest Innocent Blood Be Shed by Philip Hallie

War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk

What did you get in your mailbox (or at the library or bookstore) last week??

Happy reading!

Matrimony is in my TBR pile, too.

I got a copy of Connie Arnold's book of poetry, "Beautiful Moments of Joy & Peace." I don't read a lot of poetry anthologies, but Connie's stuff is good enough to get me to read a whole book of poetry at one time.

I love, love, love War and Remembrance (and Wouk's other books as well, like Marjorie Morningstar). Library sales are great, aren't they?

Bermudaonion: Looking forward to your review!

Marvin: I've never heard of Connie Anthony, but I'll have to check out her work. Thanks for the recommendation!

Michele: I'm so glad to hear you liked the book. At over a 1,000 pages, I was a bit worried about it. Library sales rock!

Anna, what a haul. I'm quite envious of those library book sale finds in particular!

I really want to read Wouk. Can't wait to see what you think!

Thank you for stopping by the 'mailbox' this week. 'Matrimony' is certainly making the rounds of the book blogs.

What a great week of new books!

I hit a used book sale, too. I'll post about it 10/31 in my Friday Finds (I showed great restraint, and only bought 6 books ... at 50 cents each! :) )

Wow, you have a lot of books there. I have Matrimony too. I'll be watching for your reviews of the books dealing with WWII- I always find those interesting.

Trish: I hadn't heard of the books I found at the library sale, so I don't know what to expect!

Shana: I'm intrigued by the Wouk book, but it's over 1,000 pages. I have no idea when I'll get a chance for that one!

Marcia: It certainly is!

Dawn: 6 books at 50 cents! You went all out! ;)

Bookfool: I take it your a fan of his. I've never heard of him. I'm hoping it's good.

Dar: They might take me awhile, but I'll tackle them eventually!
