Serena inspired me to become a Weekly Geek! This is my first post for the challenge, but I hope to participate more often.
This week's challenge (click on the picture to learn more) is to list our favorite books we've read that were published this year.
Here's my list (in no particular order):
Nefertiti by Michelle Moran (stay tuned for a review and much more!)
Going Down South by Bonnie Glover (read my review here and my interview with Bonnie here)
Falling Under by Danielle Younge-Ullman (stay tuned for a review and more!)
Black Flies by Shannon Burke (read my interview here and stay tuned for an interview with the author!)
The Painter From Shanghai by Jennifer Cody Epstein (read my review here and my interview with Jennifer here)
Without a Backward Glance by Kate Veitch (read my review here and my interview with Kate here)
The Islands of Divine Music by John Addiego (stay tuned for a review and more!)
Mrs. Lieutenant: A Sharon Gold Novel by Phyllis Zimbler Miller (read my review here and my interview with Phyllis here)
Losing Kei by Suzanne Kamata (stay tuned for a review and more!)
The Diplomat's Wife by Pam Jenoff (stay tuned for a review!)
As you can see, I read a lot of new books this year! (You can also see that I need to catch up with my reviews!)
If any of you have read or reviewed these books, I'd love to hear your thoughts. (And if you provide a link to your review, I'll gladly add it to mine!)

Sounds like a great list of books. I just recently received Falling Under and cannot wait to read it...I hope to borrow some of these others from you as well, but I have to finish that mini book expo book and some others first! LOL
Can't wait to hear what you think about Falling Under!
When it comes to borrowing, you know where to find me and my books! ;)
Anna - this is a wonderful blog, the way you read so many books and then share the reviews. It really helps me to know which new book or maybe a new author to "take a chance" on with my spartan book buying budget. I get lots of books given me by other authors who want a review, but review sites like this one and Serena's are invaluable. Keep up the good work!
ps - and I'm hoping Owen Fiddler will get added to that list - (smile)
You've got quite a list. I'm still trying to figure mine out after reading Serena's. lol. There's a few on your list that I'd like to tackle sometime.
I haven't read any on your list. I saw that you were interested in Tomato Girl and that's on my list. My review is here if you want to check it out.
I haven't read any of those, but some were added to my wishlist thanks to you and other bloggers!
Welcome to Weekly Geeks! Great list there... none of which I've read! Yep, I don't read many new books. Too many old ones to catch up on!
Great list, Anna. You're a lucky gal to be able to read them all.
I'm glad you'll be doing the weekly geek challenge. I don't often get the chance to read new books, so I look forward to learning more about them through your blog.
I left you a little something here:

Ah!! I can't keep up! LOL!
I just wanted you to know I'm still here - and though I may not always comment or read some of the books mentioned, I still really enjoy your reviews and interviews.
Keep up the great work Anna! ;O)
Anna, great list. The majority of these are on my TBR list or actually in the stack.
One of these days I'm going to take the plunge and become a weekly geek with you all :)
I'm thrilled to be on your list, Anna. Thank you!
Marvin: Thanks so much! I'm looking forward to reading Owen Fiddler!
Dar: I thought I was putting too many on the list! It was hard to narrow them down!
Lenore: Thanks for the link! I'm going to read your review!
Nymeth: That's the best thing about reading book blogs--getting ideas for things to read. If only there were more hours in a day!
Suey: Thanks! I look forward to participating more often.
Jeannie: I'd never read this many books without the long work commute. It really makes the time fly. Let me know if you ever read any of the books I review. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Dawn: I know! I've been a blogging maniac! I know you're there, though, so don't worry if you don't always comment. ((HUGS))
Shana: We really do have similar reading tastes, don't we? I hope you get a chance to jump on the Weekly Geeks bandwagon.
Danielle: Thanks for stopping by my blog! Falling Under definitely deserves to be on the list!!
I've seen Nefertiti on a lot of bloggers' lists. I look forward to reading it eventually.
This is a great list! Nefertiti is going in my next book order, which I have a feeling will be soon.
I've got The Painter of Shanghai here and hope to read it soon. I'm off to read the interview.
Looking forward to reading the reviews you have pending.
Tanabata: Can't wait to hear what you think about The Painter From Shanghai and Nefertiti. Oh, boy, and I behind in reviews! I've been sick for a few days and hoping I'll some day catch up!
