Giveaway: Matrimony by Joshua Henkin

I don't normally promote books that I haven't yet read on Diary for an Eccentric, but I've read so many good reviews of this one that I had to make an exception! Joshua Henkin would like to offer a signed copy of his latest novel, Matrimony, to one lucky reader!

From the back cover:

It's the fall of 1986, and Julian Wainwright, an aspiring writer, arrives at Graymont College in New England. Here he meets Carter Heinz, with whom he develops a strong but ambivalent friendship, and beautiful Mia Mendelsohn, with whom he falls in love. Spurred on by a family tragedy, Julian and Mia's love affair will carry them to graduation and beyond, taking them through several college towns over the next fifteen years. Starting at the height of the Reagan era and ending in the new millennium, Matrimony is a stunning novel of love and friendship, money and ambition, desire and tensions of faith. It is a richly detailed portrait of what it means to share a life with someone--to do it when you're young--and to try to do it afresh on the brink of middle age.

Mr. Henkin has participated in a number of book group discussions, and he talked about his experiences in a guest post at Books on the Brain. Matrimony was a New York Times Notable Book, and Mr. Henkin hopes you will think about buying it for the bookworm on your holiday shopping list.

If you'd like to be entered to win a signed copy of Matrimony, please leave a comment on this post with your email address. (If I don't have a way to contact you, your entry won't count.) This giveaway is open to readers all over the world and will end midnight EST on Dec. 21.

I haven't read this yet either and I keep hearing such good things about it. I can't wait to get my hands on it! I hope you had a successful weekend with your shopping. I didn't even get to a store to buy a single thing and I didn't get to the computer much either. I have lots to do and not enough time to do it in! But so does anyone else. Maybe I'll just take the month off and read. ;) Thanks for your contest and happy holidays!

Would love to read this book - I was in college in 1986 and married the following year - would like to see if that time period was the same for others as well!

Thanks,
