It was a slow week for my mail carriers, and I bet they were glad! Only one book this week, but I'm not crying about that, of course. (Whether I cry when I see the huge stacks of books all over my bedroom...well, that's another story! LOL)
Here's what I received last week:
Reading by Lightning by Joan Thomas (from Mini Book Expo for Bloggers)
I'll be reading this for War Through the Generation's WWII challenge.

Anyone else spend the entire weekend Christmas shopping?? I'm pooped! The first time I sat down all weekend was at the computer to write this blog post. It's not surprising that I'm drowning in unread blog posts. Ya'll have been posting faster than I can read! With all the wrapping and crafty gifts and other preparations, I'll be a bit scarce in this last week or so before Christmas. But I haven't forgotten you all, and I'll be around to your blogs soon!

I imagine my mail carrier will be busy this week, but probably not with books. I've been warned by my parents and in-laws that packages are on their way.
I ended up taking an unexpected blogging break this past week and have some catching up to do. This is definitely one busy time of year.
I had a slow week too. Happy reading.
LOL--isn't it funny how fast that google reader fills up? I had mine clean for the first time in weeks and this morning I'm back up to 50 unread posts.
Enjoy your book!
Yay, you finally got Reading by Lightning. I'm going to read mine in January-how about you and Serena?
I did go shopping for a bit on Saturday but it's too darn cold here-40 below-so it was very brief. Surprisingly I got a lot bought. I'm going to venture out tonight in much the same temps for the rest and tomorrow the post office. Then I'm not going out till it warms up here. lol.
Have a great week.
Literary Feline: I should be expecting packages for my daughter soon. The deluge is coming!
Bermudaonion: Slow weeks are good! It's not like we have nothing to read. ;)
Dar: I thought the book would never arrive! 40 below? You're braver than I am! It was in the 50s today where I am, and it was almost warm enough to take off my jacket! I'm on the home stretch with my shopping, thank goodness!
Trish: Sometimes I think Google Reader is out to get me...LOL!
This one sounds really good. I will be anxious for your review.
Oh - I love the Mini Book Expo - they get some wonderful books through there!
Congrats on getting some if not all of your Christmas wrapping done! I haven't even started!!
:) Wendi
I got myself Atonement for the WWII challenge, everyone is piling up books for the challenges like me :)
I also got Isabel Allende book for the Latin American Challenge :)
And SIlas Marner.. for 1001 books :)
God! I am challenge crazy!
Nah, I cheat. I do all mine online. :)
Amy: I'll be reading it next month. I can't wait!
Wendi: I try to keep up with the wrapping. Otherwise it gets out of hand and I'm up late on Christmas Eve.
Veens: Good luck with all your challenges! Isabel Allende is a great author. I hope you enjoy the books.
J. Kaye: I haven't encountered too many lines, so it hasn't been bad. Just tiring. I think online shopping is the way to go next year.
Thanks for stopping by the 'mailbox' this week.
We don't Christmas shop for each other and everyone else gets an online gift card. Cheating I know but then I'm not driving to the mall.
Happy holidays!
Marcia: Thanks, as always, for hosting! There is nothing wrong with gift cards, and I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the mall. I thought several times to myself this year, "Never again." LOL
