Though I'm not participating in Dewey's Books Reading Challenge (I have enough on my plate with the War Through the Generations challenge), I decided to honor Dewey's memory by signing up for Dewey's Knit-a-Long.
I've been wanting to add more knitting content to Diary of an Eccentric for awhile, but books have taken over my life. (Not that I'm complaining.) I figured this would be a great way to do it. I have a few projects in mind, nothing concrete as of yet, but I'll post my progress as soon as I dig out the yarn and needles.
Thanks to Robin from A Fondness for Reading and Chris from Stuff as Dreams are Made on for hosting such a great mini-challenge.

Welcome aboard! I'm posting a sample of my work tomorrow!
hiya Anna! I am participating in Dewey's book challenge :) and the War through the Generations Challenge :)
It is so good to see you particiating in the knitting challenge... I wish I knew... and could learn this art :)
I'm participating in this one as well. I have also been pondering adding my knitting to my blog so this will be a good start.
I'm going to try to do this. I started a blanket. But, I've been so consumed with books. I'm going to try.
Also: I gave you an award in a post today.

Enjoy your knitting!
I'd love to see some more of your knitting projects, Anna. You make such beautiful things.
I never learned how to knit. I'd like to take it up this year. Any suggestions on how to start? I was thinking of getting the "Knitting For Dummies" book.
All I can do is Knit, no purling it becomes too confusing for me!! Look forward to the knitting posts!
Can't wait to see what you're knitting. I've tried to learn myself but I don't think my fingers will ever cooperate!
I hope you'll post pictures for us of what you've been knitting up!
Anna, I'm so glad you're joining us for this Knit-A-Long!
I started my "project" last night .. this will be a true challenge for me! I plan to post my progress later this week.
I have a great knitting book to recommend (attn. Jeannie), which has lots of great pics and clear step-by-step instructions ... stay tuned for the review!
looking forward to seeing your knitting projects!

Good luck with this knitting challenge. I have enough going on now, I can't take on anything else and besides I don't knit!
Julie: I'll look for it. I'm behind in blog reading, as usual.
Veens: I'm so glad you signed up for the WWII challenge! You should learn how to knit. I taught myself using books and websites. It took me awhile, but I got the hang of it.
Teddy Rose: I'd love to see you add knitting to your blog!
Novel Menagerie: Thanks for the award! I'd love to see your blanket!
Lenore: Thanks!
Jeannie: I think I'll be finishing a little something for you as part of the knit-a-long. I really needed the inspiration. I used a combination of books to teach myself, including Knitting for Dummies. I think I took out every how-to book in the library at one point!
Staci: Purling was difficult to learn. I looked at 3 or 4 different sets of directions before I figured it out. You definitely should try it! I'd get so bored with just the knit stitch.
Marie: If I was in your neck of the woods, I'd teach you! I tried to teach Serena a few times, and she started getting the hang of it, just didn't practice enough. (You hear me Serena?? LOL) I've always wanted to crochet, but I can't get the hang of it at all!
Trish: It's so sad that I don't own a digital camera yet, but Serena doesn't mind taking pics for me. At least I hope not. LOL
Robin: Thanks for inviting me to participate even though I'm not participating in the reading challenge!
Dawn: Looking forward to your progress post!
Naida: Hoping to have something to show soon, but I can't guarantee anything. LOL
Serena: You could knit, no problem! You know I'm always available to teach you!
