Mailbox Monday -- September 7

Happy Monday! I can actually say that today since I'm not at work. After I finish this post, I'm going to lounge on the couch, read, and enjoy the Labor Day holiday. Oh yeah, and do laundry.

Mailbox Monday (thanks to Marcia from The Printed Page for hosting) lets bookish peeps list the books they received in the mail, purchased, or otherwise obtained over the last week. Here's what I received:

Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran, from the author and Random House

I'll admit I did a happy dance when I opened this package! I absolutely loved Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen, so I can't wait to read this one.

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy: The Last Man in the World by Abigail Reynolds, from Sourcebooks

Jane Austen sequels are guilty pleasures. I enjoyed Pemberley by the Sea by Reynolds, so I thought I'd give this one a try.

The Apple: A Novel Based on the Herman Rosenblat Holocaust Love Story by Penelope J. Holt, from York House Press

You didn't really think I was done with the World War II reading challenge, did you?

Lockdown: Escape From Furnace by Alexander Gordon Smith, from Farrar, Straus and Giroux/Macmillan

I'm not sure why I received this one...Shelf Awareness maybe? Regardless, it sounds creepy, scary, and interesting -- something my husband will read if it's not my cup of tea.

What books did you welcome into your home recently?

Lockdown was definately on Shelf Awareness. I know because I wanted to ask for it but it was sadly a US only offer :-(

I got Cleopatra's Daughter too. The cover of Lockdown looks gruesome.

Lots of folks received Cleopatra's Daughter this week. I still haven't read any of Moran's books. Hope you enjoy all of yours (and Happy Labour Day!).
