When It Rains, It Pours

I'm feeling overwhelmed these days, falling behind in blog posting and blog reading.  I was ready to operate in catch-up mode this week, and then The Girl got sick.  I was home from work yesterday with the feverish one, and I'm operating on two nights without much sleep.  Her fever was just under 103 last night, and this morning it was about 100.  She still has an appetite, which is good, and we spent much of the day snuggled on the couch reading and watching tv.  What made her feel better was my reading to her from Diary of a Wimpy Kid:  Dog Days by Jeff Kinney -- which she finally received on Monday courtesy of the gift card she saved from her birthday for the sole purpose of buying this book.  My husband is home with her today, but she made a date with me this morning before I left for work to read more of it to her tonight.  She probably won't be going to school tomorrow either, with fever rules and all, and in that case, I'll be working in the morning and rushing home so that my husband can work in the afternoon.  My husband spoke to the doctor last night, and she told us what symptoms to watch for and when an appointment would be necessary, but as long as her fever goes down and stays down, everything should be fine.

Just wanted to let you all know why I've been scarce this week, and it might be a couple more days before I'm back to my regular blogging schedule.  (Hopefully, I'll have a chance to post a review tonight, but I'm beat.)  And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that The Girl keeps the germs to herself...

Sorry to hear about The Girl! I hope she's better soon. You need to click that handy "mark all as read" button and forget about your blog reader right now. Take care of The Girl and yourself!

We had our turn the beginning of August. I hope her fever goes down and stays down soon! Honestly they've been worse in the past, but that fever did hang on a bit.

Take care Anna! The blog and friends will always be here! ;O)

Opening Act #1 was home the past two days with ... a fever. And a cough. He didn't even have the grace to feel sick. We had him checked; there was no apparent reason for the fever, so back to school today, he went.

Hang in there. There's a LOT going around right now, not just the big scary thing that's hogging all the spotlights. Pun intended.

Sounds like the good, old H1N1. To me the fever is always the scariest part of an illness so I'm glad to hear she's on the mend in that regard.

I'm so sympathetic - being sick and being a parent of someone sick is so not fun. It sounds like you picked a perfect book to read to her thought. I hope she gets better fast!

The crud has made it sweeping rampage through our family. I think the whole country is in its throes. Hang in there, and not to worry...we understand!

Oh no! I hope The Girl is feeling better. We have 4 school districts completely closed down around us. Nobody is saying the dreaded S word, but high illness rates are causing the closures. Make sure you take your vitamins so you can keep the sickies at bay!

And don't stress about the blog. Hit 'read all'. Everyone will understand.

It is always so tough on working parents when the little ones get sick. We feel bad for them, and still have to work out arrangements, for their care and our jobs. Hopefully she will be back in school soon and feeling good as new.

I was home with my little one yesterday too. She was feeling "sickish" as she put it. Today she is better though. I hope The Girl feels better soon.

Thank you for all the well wishes. Sorry I'm late to reply. I don't think it was the flu. She was her normal self again about a day later. Thank goodness!
