Wow, I can't believe it's already November. The months are flying by, and sometimes it seems as though I don't have time to stop and catch my breath.
Thankfully, I've had time to read. In October, I read 15 books, putting me at 105 for the year!! This means I've met my goal of reading 100 books in 2009.
Here's my list for the month (click the links to read my reviews):
A Match for Mary Bennet by Eucharista Ward*
Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine & a Miracle by Major Brian Dennis, Kirby Larson, and Mary Nethery
Betsy-Tacy by Maud Hart Lovelace
Betsy-Tacy and Tib by Maud Hart Lovelace
Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill by Maud Hart Lovelace
Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown by Maud Hart Lovelace
Heaven to Betsy by Maud Hart Lovelace
The 13 Days of Halloween by Carol Greene and Tim Raglin (illus.)
Betsy in Spite of Herself by Maud Hart Lovelace
Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran
The Widow's Season by Laura Brodie
The Return by Victoria Hislop
Horrid Henry's Underpants by Francesca Simon and Tony Ross (illus.)
Horrid Henry and the Scary Sitter by Francesca Simon and Tony Ross (illus.)
Fire in the Hills by Donna Jo Napoli**
*counts toward the Everything Austen Challenge
**counts toward the War Through the Generations Challenge
As for my challenge progress, I've completed 2/6 for the Everything Austen Challenge and 24 books for the War Through the Generations Challenge. I plan to read at least a few more WWII books by the end of the year, as well as complete the Everything Austen Challenge. Wish me luck! (It's a good thing I have the entire week of Thanksgiving off from work.)
So tell, me...how many books did you read last month? Are you meeting all your reading goals?

You are doing excellent on all fronts!
Congrats on meeting your goal Anna!
Holy cow, girl, that is awesome!
Anna, you had an AMAZING reading month! Looks like Betsy and Tacy are taking over the web ;-) Good luck on finishing up those challenges!
Good job! I know what you mean about being stunned that it is already November...
Awesome! I don't think I've ever read more than 10 books a month!
Wow! That is quite the list! I would love to read that many books in a month! I have so many. Great job on your goal of over 100.
Awesome job and I'm glad that you hit your goal and then some!!! I noticed that you read a lot of those
Betsy-Tacy books. I have a ton of them on my middle school library shelves. What age do you think they really appeal to?
Great on 105.
Not meeting my goals this week. I am just recovering from a cold. All I could concentrate on was tv shows.
I just read the first few pages of Heavens To Betsy. I am sure that I read some of these books when I was younger nut I really don't remember them at all. I am looking forward to rediscovering them.
Oh MY! What a great month for you!
Thanks everyone! I was shocked at my totals because normally I read only 8-10 per month. I think all the children's books boosted my totals.
~Staci: I think the first 4 Betsy-Tacy books are perfect for young readers. Starting with the 5th book (Heaven to Betsy), Betsy's in high school, and I know my daughter wouldn't really get the story.
Congrats on meeting your goal for the year!
Great reading month!
~Memory and Kailana: Thank you!
That's awesome on meeting your goal Anna! I have no idea how much I've read this year but it's slowing down a lot now with the holidays fast approaching!
I still don't know how you manage to finish all you do! Mrs. Super-reading-woman! ;O)
Loved the Betsy books!!
Thanks for letting me know about the WW2 links. That's great!
Anna, that's quite a list! And you did so well with all the reading challenges! I'm about to read my first Betsy-Tacy book soon. :)
~Dawn: Thanks! Honestly, I don't read much at home. It's the 4.5 hour round-trip commute that allows me to finish so many books!
~SmallWorld at Home: Thanks! I appreciate it.
~Suko: Thanks! Can't wait for your thoughts on Betsy-Tacy!
Congrats on meeting your 2009 goal!
That's a great bunch of books read, Anna!
Just started Stones in Water by Donna Jo Napoli last night, it's another read for the WW II challenge. I'll look for your review of Fire in the Hills.
Great job Anna. I want to read these Betsy Tacy books. Keep hearing so much about them all the time.
~Carolsnotebook: Thanks!
~Wanda: I hope you enjoy the Napoli books. I'll keep an eye out for your reviews.
~Shona: Thanks! You should give the Betsy-Tacy books a try some time.
You had a wonderful month! Good going. :-)
~Kristen: Thanks!
