After a busy weekend full of Christmas shopping and science fair projects, the time just flew by. It's already time for another Mailbox Monday, the weekly meme hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page where bookworms share the titles they received for review, purchased, or otherwise obtained over the past week.Please forgive me for not including the book covers today. I still have a review for a blog tour to post, and I'm exhausted from the busy weekend. I'm barely functioning this morning.

As you can see, these are all books to be added to my World War II collection. Mein Kampf caused my husband to raise his eyebrows, but for me, it's all in the interests of expanding my knowledge of the war. It's been said that if people paid more attention to what Hitler said in his book (he clearly spells out his beliefs about race, etc.), history could have unfolded differently. I don't plan to read it from cover to cover, as I've heard it's dry and boring, and I figured it wouldn't break me to spend 50 cents just to flip through it a bit. Anyway...

Nice list! I'd pick up Mein Kampf too for 50 cents. If you are a lover of all things WWII, you kinda have to at least take a look. We have Hitler's documentary that he hired Leni Reifenstahl to produce, and it is just bizarre, knowing what we know, to watch such a thing and imagine that people believed all that crap.
What an ambitious selection of books! I'll be watching to read your reviews.

I'm eager to read your review of The Wife's Tale.
I recieved The Wife's Tale a few months back, and haven't really looked at it. But lately I have been reading RAVE reviews about it! So I have bumped it up in my reading list! Looking forward to reading your thoughts on it!
I thought Mein Kampf was interesting. Not sure he was "trying" to sound intellectual though. He was a smart man, and a brilliant public speaker. His views were just...ridiculously sickening.
Yikes, are you really going to read Mein Kampf? Not sure I could stomach that one. I have The Statement, which I meant to read for the WW2 Challenge, but never got around to. I really enjoyed the movie version. Happy reading!
I'm TOTALLY with you on M.K. by Hitler. I think it IS important to know what he wrote. He DOES spell it out. (I read a few chapters online once because it's not a book you really want people to see you with.) At the same time, it's terribly important.

Not sure whether I'll read "Mein Kampf" from cover to cover. I seriously doubt it. But I definitely will flip through it and read a bit here and there.
