The Girl Thinks She's a Comedian

About a year ago, I posted some funny quotes from The Girl. (You can check them out at the bottom of this post.)

Well, she's at it again. Last Sunday, she was upstairs most of the day cleaning her room. I was lying on the couch with a backache, and I hear, "Mommy, I'm bleeding." She doesn't sound freaked out, and if you know The Girl personally, you know I should've named her Drama Queen. A few days before she told me she'd cut herself and was bleeding everywhere, but there was barely a scratch and absolutely no blood. So this time, I'm playing it cool.

She sits down on the couch and says, "Sorry, but I got blood on the stairs on the way down." And I look over, and sure enough, she's bleeding, not badly, but there's definitely some blood and there's definitely blood stains on my carpeted stairs. So I jump up off the couch as best I can while in pain and rush to the kitchen to get a wet paper towel. I run back, give her the paper towel, and tell her to hold it down on the cut to stop the bleeding while I go clean the stairs. One bandage later, and she's as good as new.

Now here's the funny part...

The next day, hubby and The Girl pick me up from the train, and as soon as I sit down in the car, hubby says, "Tell Mommy what you told me." But she clamps her smiling mouth closed, not saying a word.

So hubby tells me The Girl's version of the blood episode. "Mommy said I was a drama queen, but there really was blood this time."

You're all going to love this...get ready...

"And I never saw an old lady get up and run so fast before."

While hubby and The Girl laugh so hard they cry, I wonder if I really am an "old lady" at 30. Sigh.

So true, both of you. My mom calls her an angel with horns. :)
