Mailbox Monday -- February 22

Well, Monday is almost over, and I'm finally online.  I'm having a hard time getting back into my normal routine of reading and blogging.  I haven't finished a book in well over a week, which is unusual for me, and I've been so exhausted lately.  When I'm not dozing on the couch, I'm watching the Olympics, which really eats into my reading time.  There are a lot of books sitting on the shelf, tempting me to pick them up, so hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

In the meantime, it's time for another Mailbox Monday, the weekly meme hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page where book lovers share the titles they received for review, purchased, or otherwise obtained over the past week.  Here's what I added to my shelves:

Behind Enemy Lines: True Stories of Amazing Courage by Bill Doyle -- The Girl bought this at her school's book fair for us to read together.

Company of Liars by Karen Maitland, which I picked up from the shelf of free books at the train station

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman, from InkWell Management for an upcoming blog tour

The Bubble by Brian D. McClure, from The Cadence Group

Venetia Kelly's Traveling Show by Frank Delaney, from Interpersonal Frequency LLC

The 9th Judgment by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, from Hachette

What books did you add to your shelves recently?

I'm jealous you got the behind enemy lines book! I want that one. I have some of the same books as you.

Company of Liars is on my list -- I added it after reading Jill's review at Fizzy Thoughts. That's neat that you picked it up for free at a train station.

The shelf of free books at the train station sounds like it could be fun and interesting. Usually the only thing that ends up on the free shelf at the library is religious tracts. :)

Everybody needs some down time Anna, just get the rest you need and you'll be back in full swing in no time. I've been stuck to the olympics as well, instead of knitting my other Ravelympics project....oops! ;O)
Take care!

Yes of course - I second that - everyone needs a arest sometimes and it looks as though you have a great list ahead of you. I hope you are enjoying the Handmaid's Tale, Hannah

What a nice stack! I have been in a bit of a slump as well, at least with printed books. Too busy. I am enjoying what I am reading, it is just going very slow. I have yet to start the Vietnam Challenge. Like the Graphic Novel challenge, I think I just need to pick a month and read all of my books for that challenge at one time. I have a hard time staying focused otherwise!

I just broke down on this lovely snowy day and ordered Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt. Couldn't resist all the praise. Enjoy our books. :) Glad you are enjoying the Olympics.

I know what you mean about the Olympics eating into reading time. Not only that, but my sleeping time as well. We were up well after midnight because of last night's skating!

Looks like you had a good week. Thanks for stopping by my blog, too!

You both received some great books. I hope this week is better for you in regards to reading...winter has a way of making me feel very gloomy and unproductive at times!!!

I'm curious to read your review of The Handmaid's Tale. I just wrote about having to bail on The year of the flood.

You have some great books to read! CeeCee is getting a lot of press right now (and good reviews).

Just got The Elegance of the Hedgehog (and read it - interesting book), The Third Man Factor, Moonlight in Odessa, and An Irish Country Girl.

In answer to your question re: sock yarn, I used Trekking Pro Natura. It's a great yarn, but was not the right fit for the pattern I used.

Live (or "Knit") and learn!

Thank you all for stopping by my mailbox! I'm happy to say I'm back in the swing of things again, reading-wise.

Jodie: They don't really hand them out. There's a shelf in the station where people leave books they don't want anymore. Once in awhile you'll find something good. Usually it's only old magazines.
