The Girl went crazy at the library sale, thanks to a huge box of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps/Ghosts of Fear Street books. I bought her 12 for a total of $3, and her Auntie Serena bought another 20 of them but told her she'd have to wait until her birthday in July to take them home. (I'm not looking forward to that Mailbox Monday post.)

I received Still Missing also, and I'm excited to get into that one..it looks very interesting.
Don't you just love it when Kids are excited by reading. i was really impressed that she did the read-a-thon. My duaghter loves to read but didn't want to commit that much time on a Saturday to it. Now If I gave her the choice to do it instead of school (we homeschool) she would jump at the chance. Happy reading!!

Goosebumps, of course — I guess those are the books I should be looking for! My 9-y.o. has been wanting "ghost" stories but as my older children never got into them, I hadn't even givin them a thought.

Anna, it's quite possible that you reviewd it and I've missed it but I'm trying to remember the title of a book from one of your mailbox posts from last year. It had something to do with two babies being born but only one survives. The baby who dies actually narrates the story. Sound familar?

Sophie's Choice was one heavy duty book. I read it before I was a mother, and still, I'll never forget it. I liked Snowflower and The Secret Fan a lot, but I've not yet read Peony in Love. Shanghai Girls was so sad; Lisa See's writing reminds me a bit of Amy Tan, or perhaps that's just because of the Chinese setting. They always make me want to go to China! Or, at least order Chinese food. ;)
I haven't been to a library sale in forever. sniff, sniff. You all got some great stuff!

The Last Leaf sounds interesting. I have Snow Flower and the Secret Fan but have not read it yet. Once I do then I think I will get peony in love
My oldest was in grade school when the Goosebumps series really got big and he absolutely loved them. My mom was appalled by them but I figured as long as he was reading, I wasn't too worried about them.
My goodness the girl did do well, didn't she. lol. You got some good ones too. I have a few of those on my shelves as well. Happy Reading to all!
Wow! What a terrific haul! I always seem to miss my library sales! Maybe that's a good thing though as my bookshelf is already 3 deep! LOL! I'll just keep using my library to borrow for now!
