Welcome to Mailbox Monday, the weekly meme hosted by Marcia from The Printed Page where book lovers list the titles they purchased, received for review, or otherwise obtained over the past week. Thanks to a library sale on Saturday, my family added quite a few books to the overflowing shelves.
Still Missing by Chevy Stevens, from St. Martin's Press
The Last Leaf: Voices of History's Last-Known Survivors by Stuart Lutz, for a June blog tour
On Folly Beach by Karen White, from Penguin for a TLC Book Tour in May
Peony in Love by Lisa See, from the library sale
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, from the library sale
Sophie's Choice by William Styron, from the library sale
In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O'Brien, from the library sale. I already have a copy, so this is one that will be up for grabs at the end of the year for participants in the Vietnam War Reading Challenge
Red Gold by Alan Furst, from the library sale
My husband also picked up a few books at the library sale (please forgive me about not including the covers; I'm still recovering from the Read-a-Thon and blogging is making me tired):
Black Out by Lisa Unger
Green Girls by Michael Kimball
The Hammer of Eden by Ken Follett
The Girl went crazy at the library sale, thanks to a huge box of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps/Ghosts of Fear Street books. I bought her 12 for a total of $3, and her Auntie Serena bought another 20 of them but told her she'd have to wait until her birthday in July to take them home. (I'm not looking forward to that Mailbox Monday post.)
Goosebumps:
The Horror at Camp Jellyjam by R.L. Stine
How I Learned to Fly by R.L. Stine
Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes by R.L. Stine
Don't Go to Sleep! by R.L. Stine
Monster Blood by R.L. Stine
Monster Blood III by R.L. Stine
Night of the Living Dummy II by R.L. Stine
Calling All Creeps! by R.L. Stine
Ghosts of Fear Street:
Halloween Bugs Me! by R.L. Stine
Body Switchers From Outer Space by R.L. Stine
Why I'm Not Afraid of Ghosts by R.L. Stine
Field of Screams by R.L. Stine
What books did you add to your shelves recently?

I think the Girl got the best deal at the library sale!
Folly Beach sounds terrific! Thanks for including the link. I hope there is going to be a giveaway on the tour for that one!! *wink* ;)
Have a good week and enjoy all your new books.
I really liked Snow Flower. Enjoy all your books!
Lol, yup the Girl sure found gold at that library sale
Nice collection! I know you enjoyed Shanghai Girls from the comment you left on my post, so I'm glad to see you got Peony in Love and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. I hope you enjoy them! And Sophie's Choice is on my list, so I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.
You have some really great books there. I hope you enjoy them. Here's my loot:

Happy reading!!!
I received Still Missing also, and I'm excited to get into that one..it looks very interesting.
Don't you just love it when Kids are excited by reading. i was really impressed that she did the read-a-thon. My duaghter loves to read but didn't want to commit that much time on a Saturday to it. Now If I gave her the choice to do it instead of school (we homeschool) she would jump at the chance. Happy reading!!
Wow, that looks like quite the fruitful library sale! My stepson would go nuts for all the Goosebumps books.
Wow that was a great library sale you went too. So jealous of libraries that have great books.
Enjoy.
Ahh Goosebumps was so fun! Great books, I'd love to read the Karen White one. My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.
You guys did great! I liked Snow Flower and am eager to read Ms. See's other books. And Tim O'Brien?? LOVE!
The library sale sounds like a big success.
My most recent addition to my book collection is 'Lamb' by Christopher Moore.
Look at all of your goodies...I just LOVE Lisa See! Snow Flower is still my favorite book by her. Enjoy!
Goosebumps, of course — I guess those are the books I should be looking for! My 9-y.o. has been wanting "ghost" stories but as my older children never got into them, I hadn't even givin them a thought.
Lots and lots of books at your house this week, gotta love library sales!
Anna, it's quite possible that you reviewd it and I've missed it but I'm trying to remember the title of a book from one of your mailbox posts from last year. It had something to do with two babies being born but only one survives. The baby who dies actually narrates the story. Sound familar?
I love library sales!
Sophie's Choice is one of my favorites of all times.
Here is mine on Rose City Reader.
Happy reading!
You have a lot of great books. I just love library sales! I got a bunch of books from one last week!
Awesome week!!!

I signed up for Folly Beach as well. I had no business doing that but I just had to, you know?
Folly Beach sounds like a book I would enjoy! The Girl and you really did well at the library sale. Snow Flower is a book I enjoyed very much! Happy reading!
I absolutely loved Goosebumps when I was a kid!
I got one book this week, not something I would normally read, but it's something to review.
So many new books to enjoy! I think you will love Snowflower.
Great looking mailbox. The Girl sure did get lucky getting all those books (with more to come!). I'm expecting On Folly Beach myself. :-)
Everyone should have an Auntie Serena like that!
On Folly Beach just showed up here and I did a little happy dance. Enjoy your new books!
Oh, a new Karen White? I love her books! I also got Still Missing last week and started it today...pretty good!
Great, great mailbox! I loved, loved Snow Flower and The Secret Fan. Can't wait to read Peony in Love. I love all of your books.

Sophie's Choice was one heavy duty book. I read it before I was a mother, and still, I'll never forget it. I liked Snowflower and The Secret Fan a lot, but I've not yet read Peony in Love. Shanghai Girls was so sad; Lisa See's writing reminds me a bit of Amy Tan, or perhaps that's just because of the Chinese setting. They always make me want to go to China! Or, at least order Chinese food. ;)
I haven't been to a library sale in forever. sniff, sniff. You all got some great stuff!
Library sales are so great! I'm going to one in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. Looks like you got some great books!
Wow lots of great books! Someday I want to read Sophie's Choice.
Your library sale was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was just an ad on t.v. for a HUGE book sale down in Livonia on Sunday... I will so be there!! Enjoy your books they all look great!
Great mailbox! I love Karen White's so I can't wait to hear your thoughts on On Folly Beach!
What a great variety; I liked In the Lake in the Woods. Enjoy them all.
The Last Leaf sounds interesting. I have Snow Flower and the Secret Fan but have not read it yet. Once I do then I think I will get peony in love
My oldest was in grade school when the Goosebumps series really got big and he absolutely loved them. My mom was appalled by them but I figured as long as he was reading, I wasn't too worried about them.
My goodness the girl did do well, didn't she. lol. You got some good ones too. I have a few of those on my shelves as well. Happy Reading to all!
Wow! What a terrific haul! I always seem to miss my library sales! Maybe that's a good thing though as my bookshelf is already 3 deep! LOL! I'll just keep using my library to borrow for now!
I just have to wonder when I try to picture your house with all those books though! Where are you keeping them? ;O)
Woot, you guys made good at your library sale!I love William Styron -- I kneed to look forSophie's choice at the library, some time. Snow Flower is great. Have fun reading!
I would like to see your reviews on the Lisa See's books. And Aunt Serena is wonderful.
Hi Anna! You have great books there! I loved both the Lisa See books.
I'm so jealous of the library sale!
you got some great books! I wish my library had a sale like that!
Such great finds at the library sale! I'm particularly curious about the Lisa See books. She's an author I've been meaning to try for some time.
Thank you all for stopping by my mailbox!
Wanda: It was Flowers for Elvis by Julia Schuster
Dawn: Just picture books EVERYWHERE, and that's what my house looks like. ;)
Nymeth: I hope to read the Lisa See books soon. I've only read Shanghai Girls and absolutely loved it.
